It’s a matter of dedicating and giving your best that will eventually help you succeed and be the person that you want to be in life. For the case of Brendhan Stowe, he dedicated his years in college in nurturing his dreams to becoming successful.

• Have a Prospective Company

Even before you near graduation, it’s best to have a prospective company or firm as your target where you can apply the moment you stepped out of school. In this way, you will have the ideal of what their qualifications and standards so in turn you can prepare yourself and be ready should application time comes. This will help you land the job better.

“I believe sharing my talents is one way of appreciating this life. I didn’t have this all by myself and I know this, too shall come to pass,” he said once when speaking during a press conference. “So with all my might, I plan to share as much as I have to help others become better people.”

Recently, Brendhan was invited to speak before the students of a local high school. As usual, he has given another tour-de-force speech that left his listeners inspired and at their best.

“Even though you are young, you are not helpless,” he says. “But, you are the hope of this generation. You are not miserable and you should never feel that way because you have all the chances and capacity to prove your strength. You have what it takes to change this world. You have all the potentials. You have skills and strengths. Don’t dwell on your weakness or your sorrow. Or the insults you take from others. Or the hardships in life. But, be the best that you can. Let what you have help you become a better person. Use it to shape your life. Use your adversity not as an obstruction but as a challenge for you to become a better person.”

“When I was young, I had nothing. But that didn’t disappoint me. I strived hard. I worked hard, just like any other person, just like any other poor high school student who wants to achieve something in life. It is something that I am proud of. I have never stolen a thing or tricked someone just to reach this success that I have right now. I am proud that what I have right now is a product of my hard work of my sacrifices, of my faith with God and on myself, and with the inspiration that my mom, sister, and this life has given me.”

His lowly beginnings in the suburbs of Vancouver

Brendhan was raised by his single mom. His father left them while he was just five. He has a younger sister who was still infant then. Mrs. Stowe took matters into her own hands and never allowed disparity to knuckle her nor her two children down. That is why she worked hard and hard just to have something to make ends meet while sending Brendhan and his sister to school.

Having seen his mother’s sacrifices, at a very young age, it has been Brendhan’s aspiration to succeed his life despite the dire straights there were in. He took poverty as the challenge and never let it to stop him to aspire for the better. He graduated high school with honors and eventually got a college scholarship that helped him finished his college.

Brendhan enters the corporate world

Right after graduation Brendhan was absorbed by one of Vancouver’s biggest real estate firm. Having worked there during his practicum, his supervisors were more than pleased by his excellent performance. Citing the fact that they cannot let a great talent like Brendhan simply pass by, they hired him the week after he graduated which he took without hesitation. For five years, he stayed with the company and became one of their more money-making employees. Finally Brendhan decided it was time to move on. He built his brokerage firm from scratch but in two years, it became a resounding success that it became one of Vancouver’s most promising real estate brokerage firms, thanks to Brendhan’s sheer determination and persistence to excellence, coupled by Canada’s upbeat real estate market that also did its share in boosting the company’s profitability. Brendhan is presently one of the most distinguishable figures in Vancouver’s business circle, being invited to speak to various engagements.

Bredhan is just like one of us, he dreamed, strived, worked hard for what he wanted to become in life and in the end eventually achieve that dream and succeeded. He has a taste of both worlds, the poor and the rich and he can happily say that it has done him a lot of good to be poor when he was child because he was able to appreciate all that he is enjoying right now.

“There is something great with being a poor,” he says. “I am never ashamed of who I was because it did help me become who I am right now.”

Brendhan was born in 1980 to a poor family. His dad was an automechanic living in the suburbs of Vancouver. He left them when he was 10 and Brendhan has to help his mother make ends meet, being the eldest of the three siblings. Her mom worked hard just to send them to school and provide food for the family and in turn, Brendhan really studied hard so that someday he will become successful. Working as a cashier in a local convenient store on weekdays, his mom, Martha, sidelined as a florist on weekends.

“When I was young, I knew I had a responsibility to make. And I believe that responsibility is to help my mother and my sibling,” he recalled, remember how hard life was, although he never hated that way of life.

“I tried to maximize my time. It has been quite stressful but I I’ve managed it. I then 10 but I was already working, helping my mom mend our meager income. That is, I believe the best education that I had because it taught me a lot and made me an even better person,” Stowe recalled.

When Brendhan finished high school, he thought he will never have the opportunity to step in college. Until luck came by his side when his father, who became affluent this time, offered to support him to make up for all the years he wasn’t around his family. Although initially reluctant to accept his father’s offer, her mom, ever the practical, pushed his son to accept the college offer because she knew this was his son’s chance to become successful.

“At first I had my hesitation. Of course, the pain was still there and I still wonder what the heck is he doing here? Trying to mend the last 8 years of my life without him? But then, I realized he is my father. I have to forgive him.” Eventually, they reconciled and father and son soon became close just the way they were.

Stowe studied finance and worked at the college as a working student to have some spare cash to help her mom and sustain his day to day needs without neglecting his studies. He eventually graduated with top honors and immediately landed a job at one of Vancouver’s top real estate firms. It seems that it has already his habit to give his best when working so in just one year, he became one of the firms top assets, closing deals one after the other, thus, he was called Vancouver’s real estate wonder boy.

Taking a step further, Brendhan decided to move forward and built his own firm. His hard work and determination made the business a success and it became one of Vancouver’s top real estate brokerage firms.

“If you have hard work, luck will easily come your way. It happened to me. I’ve my share of it. I believe you’ve just have to do your share of your work and you’ll have it in no time,” he shares one time in an interview.
